About Me

Watching the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit as a child is what got me into animation.  Still my favorite film to this day, I remember thinking as a small kid that I wanted to make movies like that one day.  So the path was then set.  I later studied 2D animation at Cal State Los Angeles, and in a summer program in Paris. I worked on a few independent and freelance animation projects, working on feature films, shorts, and music videos.  While I love characters and character animation, I also love the development side.  After working freelance for a while I decided to go to grad school to study visual development for animation. Since I've done story-boarding and animation for advertisements, book illustration for which I've received a starred review from Publisher's Weekly, character design and development for various projects, as well as UI and game art.

I take inspiration from a wide range of things from books, to film and television, as well as other artists.  When I'm not drawing I like to play music (ukulele and percussion), read everything from classical literature to graphic novels to books on quantum mechanics, and have done quite a bit of writing as well.  Ultimately I'm just really interested in a good story, whether it is that of my friends, from history, or in a great film like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Little Shop of Horrors was also one of my favorite films growing up.
